The CNT's application

 We proposed a benign and highly efficient decomposition treatment for halogenized compounds by using a carbon nanotube electron source. It is well known that carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have a high aspect ratio, a high mechanical strength, and good chemical stability. Therefore, CNTs are a very suitable electron source. The advantages of using a CNT electron source are that high-density electrons can easily be generated and it is possible to control the electron energy. The proposed treatment using CNTs has a high efficiency because the input energy is provided only by the accelerated electrons. Moreover, it does not require a huge electronic source and complicated electronic circuit.

 This treatment using CNTs is one of the novel application techniques that can contribute to a reduction in hazardous toxic materials as the characteristics of the CNT configuration are consistent with the properties of toxic materials.
